Dr. Toni Franken, DVM, serves as a Chief of Staff at Banfield, bringing her expertise and leadership since joining in 2020. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ohio State University. Dr. Franken’s passion for veterinary medicine is multifactorial, encompassing a deep commitment to client education and communication. She believes that veterinary medicine is a partnership between the veterinary team and the client, and is extremely passionate about ensuring pet owners are well-informed and confident in their decisions. Preventive medicine is central to Dr. Franken’s approach, as she emphasizes the importance of education around vaccinations, prophylactic surgical intervention, and parasite protection.

In addition to caring for pets and their people, Dr. Franken is dedicated to developing and mentoring doctors and teams, increasing their comfort levels, and helping them achieve high levels of medical quality. She believes that a well-rounded, confident team means more access to care and greater comfort in approaching the wide variety of situations encountered in veterinary medicine. In her role, she is privileged to support both sides of the field, focusing on enforcing medical quality and building strong relationships with patients and clients.

Outside of work, Dr. Franken enjoys video games, cookie decorating, and art. She shares her home with three cats.
