Katia Estevez, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Estevez was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. After graduating in 1998, she worked in Cuba for three years in LABIOFAM doing cell culture and vaccines. In 2001, she moved to Puerto Rico and worked as a vet tech while studying for the veterinarian board's ECFVG program, and completed a six-month study in large animals, and a six-month study in small animals. She worked with small animals exclusively for seven years, and also worked with non-human primates as an associated professor at the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Estevez moved to Miami in 2015 and worked with Animal Welfare of South Miami for four years, and then started at Banfield.
